Garden spade brooch - gold

In our search for a truly quintessential gardening object, we found ourselves drawn to the humble spade… and couldn’t resist the idea of turning it into jewellery. This piece took the longest to design - in order to get the right curve on the head, it was worth the effort.

It’s the sort of thing you’d never expect to wear, which is exactly why we love it. Familiar, practical, a little bit unglamorous - until it’s reimagined in miniature and pinned neatly into place, where it becomes something altogether more charming.

This brooch is handmade by us for you in county Dublin, Ireland. All of our gold & silver carries George's exclusive goldsmith maker’s mark 'GJB' along with a stamp of purity from the historic Dublin castle.
